Born in Bremen, Germany, she studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Muenster. Between 1987 and 1990 she was an animator at Hahn Film in Berlin on the TV series Benjamin Blümchen and feature film Werner – Beinhart. She has led animation workshops in Costa Rica and in 1991 was an animator on Universal Pictures’ An American Tail: Fievel Goes West. Until 2002 she worked for TFC Trickompany in Hamburg on projects including Der kleene Punker and Felidae and has taught at the Animation School Hamburg. Kommando Störtebeker marked her feature film debut as a director in 2001. She also animated Lauras Stern and Der kleine Eisbä*** for Berlin’s *******-Film and directed the TV series as well as the cinema version of Kleiner Dodo and screen adaptations of Der kleine Rabe Socke.
